Follow up on my post from the 12th of April...

Philip suggested that I look for the other signs of Monilinia johnsonii on the leaves of the Hawthorn later in the year. While walking today it was impossible to miss so many leaves had gone brown and curled up on otherwise healthy branches. Mum managed to find a leaf that was exactly as Philip had described with a grey fur on it. I'm only sad that you can't smell how amazingly sweet they are too! (I couldn't get over the smell.)
