Tony Posted a Crepidotus on 29th June wondering if it was C.mollis or C.calolepis. These pictures are reproduced from Field Mycolgy, vol 17(2) April 2016 where Alick Henrici explains the subtle difference. This is just that C.calolepis has encrusted hyphae in the cap cuticle. The specimen Tony found has encrusted hyphae so is C.calolepis. The first pic of fruiting body is, I think, of a dried fb so the scales are much more dense than on Tony's find. Sometimes C.mollis has a few scales on the cap surface.
Definitely fortuitous timing to have found this just a matter of weeks after Alick Henrici published his paper outlining the differences.
